In this role you will be an essential part of our Business Opportunity team. The Business Opportunity team creates the future business models of ZEAL. In collaboration with our core teams, partners and our startup network we are creating the future of lottery. You will be responsible to identify new opportunities, create potential product ideas and evaluate their potential. As project leader you will manage the business opportunity from discovery to validation and may after successfully pitching it even transition to running it in the market and grow it into an essential business at ZEAL as a Business Owner.

Your tasks

  • Lead and support the built up of this new business unit and ensure it will develop sufficient traction and successfully delivers against objectives to be set
  • Identify, evaluate and analyze potential business opportunities focusing on new businesses for ZEAL and also for potential ventures and partnerships
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to the lottery and gaming sector
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to assess market trends and potential growth areas
  • Identify key performance indicators for the business opportunities by developing the economic model and business case
  • Test and validate desirability, feasibility and viability assumptions in collaboration with our cross-functional teams including our product, legal, tech and marketing team
  • Assess internal capabilities and capacities to develop a go-to-market strategy and the commercial launch
  • Pitching new opportunities at our investment committee for continuation and further funding
  • Provide apprenticeship to colleagues within Team Business Opportunity team as well as others from Zeal with whom a close collaboration will be conducted
  • Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including startups, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts
  • In case of continuing as a Business Owner:
  •  Own the P&L, KPIs and all relevant areas of the new business (Product, Marketing, Tech, Finance, Legal)
  • Build and drive a team and agency network in order to achieve your milestones

What you offer us

  • You are an entrepreneur by heart. You have track record of entrepreneurial thinking, acting and succeeding – either by founding your own business or within an organization
  • You have several years of working experience as a venture architect (or similar) preferably with experiences in e-commerce businesses
  • You have a broad understanding of product management, marketing as well as software development
  • You are a strategic and analytical thinker. You always start with the “Why” and end with the “What”. You love to dive deep into data and come up with long-term strategy to success
  • You are a natural, empathetic leader and strong communicator
  • You are able to build a business case and pitch it to investors
  • You have a “never give up”-attitude and a “screw it, let’s do it” mentality. You show strong ownership and passion. You always think ahead, work hard and are not afraid to “get your hands dirty”.
  • You are fluent in English and German
